On 06 Oct, we checked into Island Resorts (Former coasta sands chalet), a day that we were anticipating anxiously to come. By the way, we were looking for a sea view resort.
We checked in the resort @ 2.30 pm and was given a resort. So happpy, we made our way there...When we opened the door, it was a horror. The toilet bowl is spolit and air con not working well. It is absolutely not a place for a human to stay. I am very particular as i had a toddler and the basic means was not even met. I asked for a change immediately. They gave me another place which was not by the sea view...very disappointing...Never mind, we opened the "changed" resort. Wah lau, the fridge was better (double storey) as compared to the previous one (single storey) but got a pungent smell...same goes for the toilet bowl...Cant expect much as my daughter's birthday party was about to start in the evening...so got to make do lor.
I tell you, when the buffet started in the late evening, the most horrifying part appeared in front of me and my guests. COCKROACHES JOINED IN OUR BUFFET!!!! I was very angry and at the end, some good souls managed to destroy them but they kept coming back and in the end, we calculated. We had killed > 10 of them...
When we were about to rest for the night, just beside us also had a party by our Indians community. They switched on the music from 11 pm to 3 am, like nobody business. What a thing to end for the night.
I decided to check out the next day. Actually, i intend to stay for another night, but judging the conditions, the best place to sleep is still home. I made a complaint to the IR Mgt and their reply was very standard. The Guard DID NOT HEAR THE NOISE FROM THE UNIT. I was stunned and I immediately told them to send the guard for hearing test. The noise was so loud and yet it was not heard. THis is the best answer i ever received. As for the pest, they claimed that some pest coy will be called in to settle.....hmmm, let's wait and see.
So, I told them this will be my first visit there and my last visit there...I will not go there again unless it is really really renovated. IR should not lease the chalets out when they are still under renovation...Its bad for the tourists and people staying there, especially IR has targets for tourists. To all my readers out there, please consider your options for resort staying...
To end off, i will say my daughter enjoyed the party celebration but not the resort. Cheers.
